"My Queerness" is an exploration of my gender ideninity and coming to terms with being transgender. My work explores
the feelings and worries I had around transitioning and who I am and ideas around hyperfemininity, passing, my
perception of myself and people's perceptions of me. Towards the start of the project, I mainly focused on digital pieces
and then I moved to larger practical pieces by the end of the project. For example, my piece "Explosion of femininity" was
a mixed media piece exploring my efforts to overcompensate on femininity and cover up my masculinity. Over the course
of the project, the art I've made has helped me to become more confident in my art and myself, giving me the time and
clarity to express myself and who I am. The last piece I made was a large road sign with the words "Im Trans", a
representation of the confidence the project has given me.
