Rachael Girard

Rachael Girard [b.1999] is a recent fine art graduate who is living and working in Buckinghamshire, UK.

Artist Statement: "My practice is an unconscious physical response to personal trauma and mental health experiences. My work focuses on presenting death with a new lease of life, which is why I predominantly work with (found) animal bones. I use these alongside the body as an 'extension' allowing unplanned movement and expected restrictions. The use of light is a known factor in my work, in a way that hyper distorts the reality and interacts with the bones. My contact with the light is minimal; it is an independent performer."
