My name is Faye Morris and I am a third-year English student. This course has been unique as instead of choosing between language or literature, I have studied both which has allowed me to learn about how the English language has developed over time and also the state of the language today through its influences, dialects and accents. Learning about literature has also opened up knowledge around theorists regarding views of society, different art and literature movements, and understanding different cultures.

This piece of work is from my third-year module Utopia and Dystopia where I read many texts relating to each concept. For our coursework, I wrote a creative writing piece inspired by the texts we read and a commentary explaining inspirations and key themes; I also included a Spotify playlist that features music related to cyberpunk themes such as technology, class, and consumption.

My aim for the future is to be working within the Archive sector, whilst completing a part-time distance MA and to continue creatively write as a hobby.
