Hi my name is Nisha and I have completed my third year undergraduate architecture course and Coventry University. I have enjoyed the progression of understanding design in architecture and the emphasis on sustainable and inclusive design techniques.

The aim of my project was to create a journey at the outskirts of Coventry City Centre, on a site surrounded by movement for the young people of Coventry. The project explores the history of the city through arts and crafts as a reflection of Coventry's industrial heritage. Coventry has developed from a city of craftsmanship to a city of education through its universities, galleries and museums. This transition directs the project to merge the past and present together, creating a diverse and artistic future.

Ground Floor Plan. The ground floor functions consist of a cafe, and the main making spaces which are workshops and art studios. This allows for an interaction between the users inside the functions and people passing by to catch a glimpse into the movement of the building.

Drone view of landscape integrating with the incline of the site, providing ramps for accessibility and external workshop space opposite bus stops. This allows for a connection between the building and the public as the steps provide public seating.

The process of developing the west facade of the building which is the facade of the residential building that previously occupied the site. The placement of openings remain the same, although some doors are replaced by windows to fit the new functions. Moreover, the external brick wall remains and recycled from the partial demolition to increase the height of the building.
