About me:
I am an ambitious and creative RIBA Part 1 student who is graduating from the BSc (Hons) Architecture at Coventry University. My years of study have taught me that architecture can make a significant and visible impact on the prospect of a sustainable future. Using the skills and knowledge that I have gained, my ambition is to explore these ideas and opportunities.

About the project:
Coventry has a wide history and heritage in transport. Today, however, the City has become very car-dominated resulting in issues such as carbon emissions and pollution. The project aims to draw attention to the problem of fuel-powered vehicles, and promote a more sustainable means of transportation using electric micro-mobility. The programme includes a multifunctional semi-public building that operates as both a functional research centre and a museum to encourage visitors to switch to electrical transport. A concept of the past to the future is portrayed in the spatial layout of the building. This reflects the transition from the "present" environmental issues in Coventry, taking visitors on a 'journey' through a "transition" into a sustainable and more environmentally friendly "future" of transport.

Aerial View - An overall view overlooking the building within the surrounding context
"PRESENT": Internal View - A digital gallery to portray the effects and poor conditions of the current environment and the impact of fuel powered transport. Dark internal finishes will be used for the intention to create a uncomfortable environment that expresses negative feelings for the visitors. Small openings will allow beams of diffused light through to portray that there is a light at the end of the tunnel with hope for the future.
"TRANSITION": Internal View - The "transition" spaces show and educate visitors on the work and development that would be carried out by Xiaomi to help change the future for the better through the innovation of electrical transportation. Through guided tours, lectures and a transparent view to the workshop from the exhibition, the public can feel like they are part of the development and would be more encouraged to switch to cleaner methods of transport.
"FUTURE": Internal View - A vision of the "future". A vibrant and engaging environment for the public to get a taste of what the future could hold due to the benefits of making electrical transport ubiquitous. It will be a social environment where they can relax with a coffee from the cafe with views to the beautiful tropical garden. If visitors have been convinced with the innovation of electrical transport, they could purchase their own directly from the showroom.
