BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design

Growing up in a medically inclined family background, I anticipated in the future that I would become a healthcare professional. However, my constant intrigue to explore art and design slowly turned into a passion. I decided to study Interior Architecture and Design and undertook creative subjects in pursuing the career I desire. I love to explore various disciplines to broaden my own artistic pursuits. Traveling has always been a huge part of my life. It inspires me to create space that is a reflection of everything I know, under different shapes and emotions. The university has helped me become more comfortable with my capabilities and shaped me to be better. I have always been inquisitive, willing to learn new techniques and procedures to enhance my knowledge and skills.
After a year of experience working in the design industry, it not only equipped me for a role as an interior designer but has also opened many opportunities as a young designer to protect our environment. I seek to bring diversity to my work and focus on building sustainability, comfort for the user, aesthetic longevity, and creating affordable designs.

"Focus on your inner self..." This project helps to enhance the health and wellness of my target audience (the professionals and wellness tourists), caused by work-related stress which is a current global problem. I designed an overnight stay thermal spa experience at Holburne Museum, a Grade 1 listed building located in Bath, United Kingdom. Due to its natural hot spring, this place is known for its rich history of the Roman Bath. The design is inspired by nature, utilising textures, and experimenting with shadows to create the feeling of isolation from reality and acquire harmony in our emotions.
Second Floor Suite- This is inspired by the interior of the existing building with a mixture of modernity which creates a very sophisticated design. This is also inspired by the Roman Bath. The bath tub built in this room can access the hot spring water in which the customer can bathe privately.
Second Floor Restaurant/ Bar- This area is inspired by the desert's colour schemes, incorporating plants such as cactus. Columns are added for decoration element, making the space more elegant and also promotes the Roman Bath. I want to keep the connection with the existing building continuously within my design concept.
Basement Pool Area- The design of this is mostly an experimentation of what the existing building and the landscape can bring into my designs. I first experimented with the shadow and decided to extended the columns all the way up to the second floor, making this an open area for the sun to enter the building and reflect during the day. I decided to use the columns to create the movement of the shadows throughout the day as well as using the landscape to reflect the nature in the building, creating a relaxing and natural atmosphere.
Ground Floor Shop- I designed the sink attached to the ceiling to blend with the building. This will be made out of brass material, making this more elegant. White paint is used for the walls to make this more spacious with a touch of biophilic design.
