With climate change predicted to worsen in the next decade worldwide, there is demand for rapid evacuation vehicles to reach those stranded in remote locations. This concept focusses on one of the most extreme disasters: Wildfires. A fleet of these vehicles would be used by professional off-road drivers to evacuate victims and take them to safety.

After taking interest in the human interaction with vehicles, I decided to focus my final project on the Human Machine Interface (HMI) of a future evacuation rescue vehicle. The Anvil showcases my perception of a vehicle with minimum interface distraction, whilst still displaying essential information to drivers in a stressful scenario. The possibilities of HMI in the industry are growing daily and it is an area I am fascinated by.

I have built a detailed Alias exterior to create the images shown and I am skilled in digital 2D and 3D rendering processes. I enjoy working with both interiors and exteriors of transportation and have also investigated designing vehicle accessories as part of my design work.

The only Rapid Evacuation Vehicle built for future wildfires.
The Anvil H500 is capable on-road when approaching a wildfire, using air suspension and drive modes to adapt to terrain. Its hydrogen fuel cell powertrain powers four electric motors to ensure instant torque and fast energy refuelling of the armoured hydrogen tanks.
Anvil can be optioned with heat reflective paint and uses double glazing and insulated bodywork to shield it from heat.
The worldwide appeal of this evacuation vehicle is important when considering the markets it is sold in. Rapid response vehicles are required by Police departments, relief organisations and fire departments worldwide to evacuate victims quickly.
The organisations with use for this vehicle include: The UK Police (Top Left), US National Park Service (Top Right), The Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of the Russian Federation (Lower Left) and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Lower Right).
