Hi, I'm Joana, a designer based in the UK but originally from Portugal. I am seeking a junior design role where I can grow as a professional designer and develop my skillset. I am proficient in illustration, concept drawing, development, making and testing. Aura is a jewellery piece that can contact your loved ones or any other emergency contacts in the event of an abusive situation or emergency. LED light alerts the user that an SOS text message has been sent (without the need to reach for the phone) working hand in hand with an app. It is designed not to be recognised as a panic button and doesn't conform to the archetypal design of panic alarms/buttons available in the market, instead following jewellery and accessory trends.

Aura targets problems such as sexual violence towards women, since 45-55% of women in the European Union have reportedly experienced sexual harassment. It focuses on women who are assaulted or harassed daily and can't call for help in time or feel they can't reach help in a discreet way.
