Ben Jessop

Hi, I'm Ben. I'm a product designer who enjoys creating new concepts and learning new skills. I had the opportunity to do this whilst on placement in Vittorio Veneto, Italy for Emo Designs Consultancy (9 months), allowing me to develop both my technical and creative skills working on projects for international companies.

In my project I have focused on nullifying the impact phones have on our lives, especially in social environments, in which they take away from the interactions and engagements we used to cherish between our friends, family and new people we meet. In trying to remove these social barriers which our phones can become, I have come up with a family of products which both hide your phone and prevent notifications by blocking the signal. An attempt to provoke social engagement and bring more intimacy back to the social environment rather than meeting people to sit on your phones.

I have designed this product to be plastic free in an attempt to make the product more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
