Self-branding

Within graphic design my main passion is illustration and as I continue to delve deeper into it, from branding to book design, I find it all fascinating. In many ways I find I relate to a magpie, which is the reason I use them in my branding. I love to collect design in all of its forms and immerse myself within it. Every inch of every surface I own looks like a Pinterest board. I am constantly trying to improve my skills in any way that I can. Dissecting pieces of design and figuring out ways to incorporate elements into my own practice is something I find extremely enjoyable. Elements I especially find interesting are the uses of colour, lighting and texture. In particular I am loving experimenting with halftones and looking into alternative movie posters. I used to struggle with figuring out my own style and thought this was a bad thing; however, I have realised that being able to create with multiple styles is a positive as it means I am able to be versatile and I now use that to my advantage in my work.
