According to the NHS, the most common type of dementia in people over the age of 65 is Alzheimer's disease. I felt that making a short film about people with Alzheimer's' was a good way to bring about some awareness to this disease, as well as to show the relationships of those who are affected by this, such as family members. I also incorporated the theme of family in the film. This is to appeal to viewers and make them feel an emotional connection with the people in the film even though they might not know anyone affected by the disease.
'Fragments' is a short film which follows Mark, an elderly man suffering from Alzheimer's. In an attempt to seek distraction and relief from this unpleasant reality, he subconsciously drifts back to his past. However, reality leaks into his visions, and he finds himself communicating with his daughter.
