Snow Flake is an interactive fashion reformist magazine with the social objective of creating a platform for the most under represented communities in Western society. The Zine uses new and digital media to encourage young people to explore the dying print industry. This was inspired by the idea that youth and technology aren't ending the format, we are, in fact, revolutionizing it. The interactive aspects include photos that become videos when scanned with the Artivive app, as well as long interviews embedded into QR codes. I was inspired by the Two-Tone Music Movement to create a black and white branding around the magazine, which is why throughout, there is a monochromatic vibe to it. This was a project I was very excited to work on from day one, and though Covid did change some aspects around it, I still enjoyed working remotely with everyone involved and exploring new ways of creating media when restrictions are in place.

Welcome to the first week of Snow Flake; Where The Open Minded Come To Play. For Snow Flake's first edition, we are thrilled to be joined by up and coming non-binary musician, Kestrel Esin; as well as the Queen of Leamington Spa, Sassy Africa, who has not let her Cerebral Palsy stand in the way of looking fabulous!
