Kings and Queens is a spoken word video, focusing on the Black Lives Matter Movement. It focuses on Black stories and experiences from Black voices. I wanted to showcase this through spoken word, Drawing on the experiences and opinions of the performers who applied through my casting call. During the march and seeing everyone come together to help fight against the many other deaths and cases due to racism and police brutality it made me even more determined to help gain awareness on the injustice. This being done from not only doing my own research and sharing on social media but from going back to university and having to create our own projects. I wanted mine to include awareness to BLM and wanted to combine my passion for spoken word with that. I have seen a number of spoken word videos that are so powerful and that's what I wanted to create with "Kings & Queens"
