History & Politics

This poster presentation was created as a piece of coursework for the module 381ISS US Government and Politics. It examines how the National Rifle Association influences American Politics, where some of these spheres of influence are located as well as the limits to such influence.

Debates over gun control measures have dominated US politics for years. The National Rifle Association as the United States' biggest gun rights advocacy group has played a key role in defending the Second Amendment by endorsing candidates, providing campaign donations and implementing effective marketing strategies. However, its influence has been wavering recently, as frequent incidents of mass shootings have mobilised a large portion of the public to stand up for gun restrictions.
